Softtopper!
Got myself a Softopper yesterday. Its a little beat up, but it will still serve its purpose just fine. I tried to call the company today to ask what i should spray on the top of it to make it waterproof again since it seems to allow water to seep through and drip. Anybody got any tricks or tips to using these things?

Before install (to get it home)

After Install

Let me know what you think. Anybody else out there have one?

what is it made of? leather-ish? maybe some boot waterproofing treatment would fix it right up? I've used it before on bikini tops for a few past projects. I bought the stuff by the gallon so it's not "exactly" the same as the boot weather proofing rattle can... but it is the same thing. lol

as far as i know they are mostly the same. Mine is older. Just measure your bed and find one. They are very simple and can fit most anything. Or custom build your own. http://www.softopper.com/toyota/softopper

How much did you pay for it? There is a guy near me with a can-back for sale. He wants 400 but I don't know how good of a deal that is for soft top shells. Kinda' trying to figure the average cost of a used one. I know that soft toppers are cheaper then can-backs but still would be helpful info.

Bestop makes a new one for like 300 i think. was debating getting that. Saw one locally on CL for sale about a month ago. The guy was asking 250, with a few busted snaps and a split rear window i think i got it for 150.
After getting it home and looking at it, installing it, and using all the functions i would say it was absolutely worth it, i can roll it up, tuck it back, or lock it down.
mine is at least several years old and is still pretty water proof.
Hope that helps

I had never heard of Can-Back, http://www.can-back.com , but after checking i would say hell no! Sure those look nice, and are probably very sturdy, but starting at $1500?! They must be insane. I have no experience with Can-Backs, but i could easily put the $1000 difference in my truck in a much more needed and noticeable way.
