Motor has been sitting for about a year, but still fires right up and runs good. I need to sell it to fund a 4.3l swap and am just trying to figure out what it might be worth. Thanks in advance for any opinions.

 

use bluebook then add a few hundred more for everything. are you saying it has only little over 10,000.?

why are you selling it? if you still got many more miles to go, dont get robbed out and sell it.

 

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. This is the motor only. I need to get rid of this motor/trans to make way for a 4.3l swap into this truck.....someday

Do you have receipts for parts and machine work?

.60 over is a little scary IMO for a daily driver

Pistons, rings, bearings, crank turned, oil pump, water pump, head and main studs, adjustable cam gear, timing set, valve guide seals, head resurfaced and valves turned, cam has about 30K on it

I'm glad you brought that up, I checked and if fact it's only .040 over

If it was turn key I would say $1300 OBO is what i would ask.

What about a warranty? I wouldn't pay more than $800 or so on an engine that has no guarantee.

 

x2 sounds like a great motor but i wouldnt pay more than 800 for a used 4cyl built or not

 

One could drop 3k plus on a LCE motor and the warranty is only 90 days and it's only been bench run.
