You dont need it, but it would sure help.
Its really nice to have, it depends on the tire size you wanna run.
and if your tires arent rubbing on the body but on the leaf springs or something it can be fixed with wheel spacers.

just an fyi, I am not lifted, on 31's and running open open factory grears. You would be surprised what these things can do in nearly stock form. Our last Yotatech meetup at Rausch Creek off-road park, I went 90% of the places the other guys on here that were running 33's and a lift or 35's and even bigger lift. What I wasn't willing to do was most of the hills and severe off-camber. (I just don't like em). Most of the crawling with a proper spotter like Lumpy on here and proper use of the skinny pedal, you can get through almost anything that a guy running a 4" lift and 35s can.
