Ok i have a dumb question, im being told that a 22re is fuel injected. the engine in my 83 says 22re and its carbed... can it be the 22re just carburated?

 

you probably have a 22r not 22re. 22r is carbed

 

Valve cover says 22R-E interchangable?

 

Yes, interchageable. E stands for (I think) Electronic fuel injection. EFI. So somebody either thought they were cool and threw an RE sticker on your valve cover or, more likely, they swapped out valve covers for whatever reason.

Is the cover rounded like this or is it more square-edged? If it's square, it's definitely a later model RE cover.
