Pickup brake cable

I'm sure this has been asked before. My parking brake cable broke on my 77 pickup. And I can't find a replacement anywhere. Parts stores dont have them and can't order them and I can't find one online. I'm sure im not the only person with this problem. Anyone found a good solution besides the junkyard. Id like a brand new cable. Possibly modifying a cable from another vehicle?

They have one but it says it's for an automatic transmission. I don't know if that matters?

Oddly enough the process of making custom cables isn't more elaborate than making fishing weights and doesn't require very extravagant tools. You might want to look into this.

I'm not familiar with any difference between manual and automatic brake cables, the only thing that comes to mind is possible difference in lenghts.. Rockauto has decent return policy, it's worth a try and could cost no more than shipping the part back.
