Part out? Or sell?

Part out? Or sell?
Hey guys, I got an 82 pickup 4x4, it needs a clutch, im trying to sell it for $850 but no action, I kinda want to keep the front axle for a far furture SAS, what do you think I could get for the rest of the truck? It has 2 t cases, 2 sets of tires, the bed and cab could sell but I dont think anyone would want the front clip, maybe the headlights and buckets, the frame is good, running 22R with new water pump/radiator and 35k since rebuilt. What do you think i should do, sell it whole or part out and keep the axle?

I'm suprised nobody has bought it, I would pick it up if I had an extra 850. It doesn't look like it would take too much to make it a nice little p/u. Would almost hate to see it parted out. Good luck with selling it.

Hmm...that is a nice truck. I'm in need of some of those things probably, but Utah is bit far right now. I was just down in your area just over a month ago, but I hadn't bought my truck yet..
You live in a great place to own a truck like that.

Interesting... I live in Durango CO, not too far away and I had an '83 shortbed in simular condition, but with a blown head gasket (on a newly installed engine) and I ended up selling it for $600 to a guy in Dove Creek... but I was asking 1000. Stick with $850, some one will be interested. If I had the money I would buy it! Mine took a while to sell so although I got a ton of responces. I just sold it cheap because I needed money from it to get my new one (another '83), but I am sure if I held out I would have recieved the asking price.

Yeah, trying to take the cost of what it needs off the asking price is kinda common. With trucks this old, you'd have to PAY someone to buy them if we did that. It is what it is, and it's certainly worth what you're asking.

wow, for that price in bend here it would be gone within the first 10 minutes you listed it... if i lived down there i would buy that sucker for 850. your only lookin at like $150 for a whole new clutch kit...

why don't you just fix the clutch and then re-list it? you'd get much more for a running and driving rig. most people fear rigs with stuff that is dissasembled, it screams "i took it apart to fix it and it was way worse than i thought" or that its hiding other issues (engine problems). yes, it needs work... but most people will overlook cosmetics if it runs and drives.
BTW, your tires are on backwards....

Saw this in the upulit yard but this guy got to it before I did. At least it looks like the same one. If you dont part it, dont give it away. Let it sit someone will want it. I think you are asking a legit price. Just my .02

I have only seen 1 other first gen in my area, it was an 82, rattle can'd, missing driveshafts, 300k on the clock, beater for $1700.
I want to fix the clutch, but I pulled everthing at my friends house as i have basically no tools, but now he's being shady.
