Parking Brake Delete

Anyone ever considered this? The 1980 I'm currently working on has the worst rear brakes I've seen. All bad parts are related to the parking brake. I'm not a brake expert but since I've never used the e brake/ parking brake, is this a viable option. Tony

Well as long as you don`t mind adjusting your rear brakes as needed .

Pedal travel gets quite long when they are out of adjustment

As they adjust with application of the Parking Brake

then maybe just plug the brake line going to the rear .

I'll give it a shot in a open field. If all else fails maybe I'll look into disc conversion. Thanks for the thoughts, Tony

My daughter also gave me an earful. So I'll keep it safe. I'm hoping the 87 I have has the parts I need. Just looks like the po used the drums to tumble and debur rocks and the brake parts. Tony

Well... There is a parking brake for a reason....

Just replace the bad parts and have the piece of mind that everything works as it should.

My 80 pickup has a Line Lock on the hydraulic line going to the back. Works great.
