oil blowby every where

My truck is puking oil out of the valve cove vent tube, valve cover, dip stick, timing chain cover and front seal... At least that is what I can see.

I did replace the oil pump tonight, the one that was on it was reading 80 psi when the engine was up to 3500 to 5000 rpm... I thought that might be to much.. the other oil pump runs at about 60 psi...

Any how I am stumped, any ideas??

Sounds like your crank case isn't venting. Start taking it apart again and make sure everything is in the right place. If it wasn't leaking before you changed it, it shouldn't leak after unless something went wrong.

Usually the oil pump puts out 10psi per 1000rpm.

I got a friendly warning about the title of this thread.. I apologize if I offended anyone.
I was going to attempt to change the title, but it appears that has already been taken care of.

I have a BAAAAAAD feeling I have some busted rings...

I built this engine about 4 years ago... But I also let my son use (abuse) the truck for about 8 months. The timing chain broke on it while he was using (ABUSING) it. I tore it down twice since (pulled the head) and the cylinder walls looked good, but I didn't pull the pistons....I have to decide whether to rebuild it again or buy another long block.

Do a compression and leak down test. It is possible that your head gasket is leaing into an oil galley.

What they said. Is one of your spark plugs suspiciously oily?

The plugs look good...
I have to work the next few days, but will do a compression check before I pull it.

The head gasket is a few weeks old.. The number 1 plug stripped out and I got shavings in the cylinder...So I pulled the head to clean it out.. I lapped all the valves at that time, they looked good. I also replaced the valve stem seals

Found a 85 Buick 231 V-6 with an MSD distributor and Elderbrock intake, 80,000 miles.
I do have a brand new Holley carb...
I am still undecided as to which way to go.....

Fill that biatch wit k-1(kerosene) and run for 20-30min at idle... Maybe goose it a couple time times. drain and refill, run for another 29 min, drain and refill, then see where you at. May just have some sludge build up

Or... its time for a rebuild, and this ^ could be a waste of $

Did you own it from day 1? Have you ever had her totally apart? If the answer to either of those questions is NO, refer(not reefer ) my previous post

I built the engine about for years ago... I let my son use (abuse) the truck for about 8 months.. In that time he blew a freeze plug (it was cold) warping the head.. Then he broke a timing chain.. When I replaced the chain, I went lapped all the valves just because, but I didn't pull the pistons... The cylinder walls looked good..

Can't that be because of a timing (detonation) problem?

I believe it has been an ongoing problem that was made worse by the DUI distributor...When I got it all pulled down, ya can tell it got HOT. And the block is TOAST......
