New to the forum and owning a toyota. I recently picked up and '79 toyota pickup with the trade of a 4wheeler. Trying to get it back up and running when I have the time and money. I am getting an air cleaner off of a 22r. Is there an adapter for the air cooler to fit onto the stock 20r carb? And someone took the power steering pump off prior to me getting the truck. Found a new pump but I can't figure out the way everything hooks up, pictures would be greatly appreciated

 

There is a FSM for a 83 floating around here somewhere, it's gonna be the 22r but may give you some direction. Good luck!

 

You mean air filter, not air cooler? I'll check out my trucks...I've got a 20R and 22R. I'll see if there's any difference. I think they should be pretty similar.

You sure someone removed the power steering pump? Do you see plugs in the steering gearbox closing off ports?

Welcome! These can be a lot of work, but they're fun.

 

Phone auto corrected to air cooler. Felt pretty stupid once I saw it. It is for sure missing the pump. I can get my hands on one I just don't know how everything hooks back up. Pictures from the scrap yard would probably do the trick

I could use photos, too. I bought a power steering gearbox and pump and the whole setup years ago...and just never got around to installing it.
