New Clutch Q's

I'm getting ready to replace my clutch and install a twin stick on my '83. Any advice or tricks on pulling the transfer case and tranny? Should I pull the t-case first and then the tranny, or pull them both at the same time?

well I would recomend :

pull the shifters out of the tranny and transfer first and while your at it replace the bushing in the tranny .

I use a 30" extension to get the 2 top engine/tranny bolts , with a swivel socket , the rest are easyly removed .. drop the drv shaft and slave . Pull the starter and loosen the crossmember bolts .. support the "assembly" and remove the crossmember bolts fully .... pull it straight back removing the input shaft from the pilot bearing and clutch assembly ...

An extra set of hands and muscles helps too.

If you've got help, no need to remove the t-case from the tranny. I ended up doing it, though, since the tranny/t-case combo was just too much for us to line up to the clutch. Some of those t-case to tranny bolts are seriously hard to tighten down once the tranny's bolted back up to the engine, though..

To make things really easy you could measure and drill 2 holes in the cab for the top 2 tranny bolts, and get some rubber plugs to cover them up when your done. Then there's no need for 6ft of extensions and 38 swivel sockets

Great advice from all. It's nice to hear from people that have done this before.
