Need technical help for a late model transmission swap into an early Hilux.

Hi everyone, I needs some technical help for a certain transmission swap. I have a 1977 Hilux 2WD with a W43 transmission, and I would like to swap in a W59 from a 1999 Tacoma 2WD 2.4. Any help is indeed greatly appreciated. If there are other sites that can provide assistance, a referral is great! Most of what I know about doing this swap comes from Wikipedia searching "Toyota W transmissions." That is only the start for what I need here.

I understand that all W transmissions are interchangable, but in this case the bell housing will need to be changed out with an earlier W transmission housing to fit. Will the housing from the W43 work?

I Understand that the W43 and a W56 are the same length, and the driveshaft works unchanged for both transmissions. And the W59 is almost identical as the W56, so the driveshaft should work with this transmission too? Only the gear ratios are different between these two 5-speeds.The other details are the same? Therefore, the W59 should be the same length as the current W43? Any information or charts showing Toyota transmission size specifications would be a great help!

From reading a write-up someone posted years ago the W56 will fit with the W43 driveshaft, but the transmission mount from the W43 needs to be modified. The part number for the W56 transmission mount is the same as for the 1999 Tacoma 2.4 W59 transmission, so a modified W43 transmission mount should work? If all this information is accurate, the W59 should swap ok with the W43. Any insite or comments are appreciated.

Finally, the hole for the shifter needs to be enlarged a bit. I am also upgrading to 4:88 gears, so something needs to be done with the speedometer gear?

Thanks for reading.
