key wont work???

Question key wont work???

my buddies dad just gave me a 1980 toyota 4x4 pickup and the key wont work.it goes in,but wont turn.does any one know how to "hot wire" one of these things.the steering column is also locked.any help you guys can give me is much appreciated.

You call a locksmith, and have a key made. Thats the best way to hotwire one.

I would not look for advice on how to "hot wire" vehicles on a public forum.

As peow said, just call a locksmith and get a key made, or call up your local dealership and see if they can do anything for you using the VIN.

When you put the key in try Turning the steering wheel one direction or the other as you turn the ignition on. It will should release it and allow you to start the truck.

Did your buddy's dad give you a title too?

we got it.it was pretty simple.yes ive got a title for it.the truck was sitting in a field for nearly 10 years.cleaned all the mouse turds out of it and got it to fire off carb cleaner.pulled the carb off and its gettin rebuilt.slave cylinder for clutch was frozen.ordered that.gonna replace all the vacuum lines change engine and drive train oil.im just gonna use it for a mud/trail truck
