just got my 3rd yota pickup!!

so i was at work today and noticed a 79 2wd by my boss's chicken coop.. looked like it had been there for a few years haha maybe ten. i told him it was a cool truck and he said you like it? take it. so i went in there after work and it turned over a few times and started right up, ran flawlessly after sitting for 3 years. it has a bad clutch master cyl. and a flat tire but runs perfectly, 275k on the clock. YAAY!! ill get some pics up in the next couple days when i go to pick it up.. if the tires hold air im just gonna drive it home hehe

There's been a thread on this...79-83 was the 1st generation of 4wd pickups......but the first generation of toyota trucks was........don't feel like searching for that thread right now but early 70's if not late 60's. We can feel ok about calling our trucks 1st gen if we use the disclaimer that yes, we know, 1st gen 4wd, not truly 1st gen..

Wow, it's even an SR5....lucky you.

With a new bumper, grill, and a thorough cleaning, she'll look great again!

How many freakin yota's do you have? You got your '86 4WD still or did you sell it? Then you got an 85 2WD, a 84 4WD, and that first gen..

Lucky sob! Get that little 20r in good running condition, paint it, fix some of the fubar'd parts and get some new wheels! A great DD. Power is always nice when you have tiny 2wd pizza cutters

yeah it just needs to be timed i just gave it oil, filter, pcv, spark plugs, sea foam (haha.. smokey) pressure washed the inside threw away most of the interior, i think the mice wanted it more than me, and i got rid of that shell too.

Dude, get some seat covers, new pedal covers, a flat black paint job and some slick rims and tires and you'll have a nice DD... Atleast thats what I'd do, but you can't beat free dude!
