It's Coming Together

I have not documented my build hardly at all...but I have had some great support from folks here. The light is getting brighter at the end of the tunnel. The back half is painted and I deliver the front half to the body shop in a week. I can't wait to start the reassembly!!

It's 2017 Ford Lightening Blue Metallic. It hurt a bit to put a "Ford" colour on it but in the end it was the blue that I thought would be best. It really "pops" in the sun!

The inside is all painted and now for the final stage of painting. Should have it back by Wednesday so that I can start the reassembly.

NICE! I really need to do mine, but I hate to start on it. I drive it every day. It starts every time I go to start it. I have other vehicles to drive, so that isn't an issue, just taking it apart is.

It's so close to being done. Had to roll it out of the garage for a little Spring cleaning.

All I can say is WOW!

That truck looks fantastic! I need a first generation truck like this now.

It looks better than factory!

These pictures are my new computer background.

Thanks...I appreciate it! I could not have even come close to doing this without a huge group of participants on this site. That, my OCD and way too much money and now I have a truck that I'm afraid to drive . Actually, my son and I originally picked this up so that we could work on it and it would become his vehicle when he turns 16 (this April).......weeeellll, maybe he'll drive my other truck for a while first!

Yeah I would not let my kid of 16 drive that. Start him off on something easier to replace if needed. Truck looks amazing as does the background outside your house.

That is really amazing! Nice job! That stripe kit and topper really make it stand out! It's people like you that help keep my 1980 long bed restoration project going!

Thanks...I got the stripe kit from Corey (member here) at http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/toyotafiberglass.htm and the topper was a pure luck find...but with a reg cab Toyota I need the extra space to secure stuff. I only have a couple items left to complete a) exhaust tailpipe and b) get rear mud flaps installed. Then (I think) I can call it "done".
