High Idle Problem After Carb Rebuild

Hey, team. I've got a 79 Hilux, and I just rebuilt the stock carb because I was getting horrible gas mileage (about 14mpg). Since rebuilding the Carb, the truck idles at about 1600 RPM (it should be idling at 800). If I try to lower the idle by adjusting the Idle Speed Adjusting Screw or the Idle Mixture Adjusting Screw, the truck stalls. I've checked the choke thermostat and the part that forces the choke open and they're both working. Any ideas?

Throttle Linkage?
Idle Stop Solenoid?
