My '79 Special Edition...

New Toyota owner here; coming from the Subaru crowd and damn glad I made the switch!

Dug her out of a field a few moths ago...full tune up and she runs like a champ!

Just a few goodies so far: Custom front bumper/Bull Bar with 9000lb Badland Winch welded in, custom rear bumper coming straight off the frame, stock bench swapped for racing buckets, snug-top topper, custom tube steel rack.

It's the "special edition" model, or so I was told when I bought it. Has the accessory gauge pod, wood-grain trim. Somewhere along the line, the stock 4-speed was swapped out for the 5-speed.

I just picked her up a couple months ago, so there is more to come...

Here's my first car which just happened to also be my first truck / first Toyota / first Custom Cab / first truck I regret selling (like a young, dumb kid always does). Purchased from my Dad for $1000 in 1994. This is one of the only pictures I have left of it. Miss the old girl!

1983 Custom Cab, 3" lift, 33" tires, 22r engine.

Picked up this one last year.
1983 Custom Cab 4x4. 22r engine. Lift? 30"tires. Blue interior. Looks like a rattle can paint job. Built in Cali where it spent most of it's life. Then lived in Nevada for a few years. Now it's in Colorado and not being driven. Frame isn't rusty at all!
I have/had plans of restoring it to look like my first one. Life is trying to dictate that I not restore it. So, It may end up for sale. It also came with a cap. This is how it sits in my backyard. I drive it once a month for about a mile to keep everything lubed and in check.
dang is the extended / custom cab is that a factory option or was it just something an out side company did??? id love to have that ...specially in white (TRADE YA) lol

Not factory...it is called a custom cab. a conversion done in the early/mid '80's by a couple of outside companies.
