It looks like the '81 a friend of mine at work sold about 1.5 years ago, I was trying to buy it from him for a couple of years. I ended up buying my Trekker. Of course he put it up for sale a couple of months after I bought mine. He sold it in the Forest Grove Area, not sure it is the same truck or not but sure looks like it. He had some carb issues, couldn't pass DEQ

I suppose that it could be the same truck, it has a newer weber but from what I know it has been living here for the last few years. BTW, I checked out your trekker links, those are awesome! I would love to get one or to convert this rig. There's a couple on CL, but I can't justify buying one while owning this.

hi guys, sorry this post is a little late, i just joined and i LOVE my 82 rocking that stock paint job, 30 el dorado ztr sports and 31 buckshots for play time, this picture is two years old, this is the weekend i bought the FIRST time, i've since sold it and hated myself and bought it back from the man, it was ragged out when i got it back, and in great shape when i sold it. i just bought the two sets of tires, and does anyone know what the special model, maybe, is on nthis truck, i'vw seen a few with this paint job and they dont have any markins on them.

Great looking rig, defiantly keep it. The first gen pick-ups are getting harder to find. The paint job is a factory special SR5 package. I can’t remember what they called it I just know that it was only available in the SR5 trim level. It came in either red or blue base color. I believe it was offered from 1981 to 1983. Here's a picture of a red one.

When I bought my ’81 I wanted the SR5 but couldn’t afford the $1200 it added the cost, I ended up with a Deluxe. Here is one that I would like to get my hands on for my next project.

It was just called the blue and white two tone option. I believe it was only available on the SR5. This color scheme was an option for 81-82 trucks. They also offered the red and white version for one year and a black and tan for one year, maybe they weren't as popular? I have only seen one black and tan one around and I still regret not buying it, probably the best looking 1st gen color scheme.

If you want to know more, you should check out the original brochure at this site. Click on the 81 brochure and scroll through it. You'll find a full color picture of a blue and white SR5 titled "Beauty in the Boondocks".

I know it has been done. I would think it woould take a grill, headlight trim and the brackets for bulbs???? Good luck!

Some new pics from today. Sized them down to fit a 17" monitor, hope that's small enough.

and on the black and tan ones, it wasnt that they werent popular, the second link said they there were only few produced.

knowin now that they are so rare, i got a great deal on mine, both times i bought it. i paid 2000 the fist time, traded it for a new ranger, then bought it back for 500, ragged the hell out. its now at the shop for a poppin in the font axle, i know very very little about 4wd operations, and i'm waitn on an intake gasket to fix the "carb leak" i thought it had, only to get me by till a can afford a weber

Grill, headlight buckets, brackets, headlights (obviously), the plugs for the side lamps (the ones integrated into the headlight buckets), and you may end up drilling a couple holes out.

There are holes that line up with the round-style brackets, but they don't have a threaded nut welded on like the holes for your square brackets do. I just drilled the three holes out a little bit and put those license plate style plastic inserts in there to use a threads. Maybe not as strong as it could be...but it's worked for me so far.

The plug style is different like I mentioned. Kind of funny since you're going square to round, because with the plugs you'll be going from round to square. It's really a simple conversion.

well i love the round headlights, but i changed my mind as i was getting ready to make the 15 min ride to get the parts, most everything on my truck is original, (the headlights and windshield are original) the only thing it is missing is the chrome trim around the windshield, which is busted because of a dumb baseball.
if anyone has the trim or knows someone that has the trim please let me know.
and i need a stock chrome front bumper.
