herculining my bed!

tomorrow I will be doing a gallon of herculiner to my bed, prep has consisted of using the permatex rust treatment areosal spray to turn the surface rust black and have also used a wire cup brush on my drill to sand the bed to make the liner stick well. I will spray degreaser all over and wipe clean then follow the instructions and do 2 coats. it says 1gal is enough for a 6ft bed, but a fullsize trucks 6ft bed is a lot wider then my 7.5ft longbed, should be close. anyone used this stuff? pics of my rust restoration and liner to come!

I've used the Duplicolor bedliner, and wasn't very impressed. I have heard better things about the herculiner though. As I'm sure you've heard, 90% of the final quality is due to the prep work. So take your time prepping!

Show us some pics when you're done!!

I have it on the inside of my '85 4Runner that I'll soon be parting with, and... it sucks.

The job that was done was admirable, prep work, good coating uniform thickness and application. It still just doesn't stand up to RhinoLiner or anything similar. Go the distance, it's worth it.

I have completed the herculing. the rollers suck and are worthless, just a fyi. I ended up using the 3in brush for the whole bed, so by the time I got to the tailgate of my long bed it was getting thick!! I had to thin it with xylene but may redo the tailgate due to it being pretty thick and filling in the screws on the tailgate! I also used 2 cans of the spray can liner to get into the really tight spots and to even it all out nice. pics to come.
