rejet kit is going to have bigger jets than what you have now. need to know whats in it first then order the individual jets you want to try.

Alright well got the regulator on there and is running better but still running too rich - I leaned out the mixture until the exhaust smells ok, the truck runs great when warmed up and feels like its at the right mixture, but I get both backfiring on deceleration and a very rough idle when cold.

I suspect an air leak at the carb base plate - I suppose this could be causing the rough idle and backfire and that extra air is preventing me from leaning it out as much as the motor needs. Will report back.

Got new cap, rotor, wires, and plugs on order, see if that does anything too - also will be checking the timing.

so ended up advancing the timing by sound, changed plugs, cap, rotor, wires - not only did this get rid of the backfiring on Decel I was having but got rid of the fuel smell as well.

Mixture screw is around where it used to be at about 2 turns out.

Truck seems to be running really well now. No pinging or knocking as far as I can tell. Im at around 7000 feet.
