First gen dash swap question.

I am trying to get my 1982 Toyota pickup back on the road within the next few weeks and was wondering if a complete dash (cluster, switches, radio etc.) from a 1980 2wd p/u will fit in my '82. I ask because the '82 is cut for an aftermarket radio and it's all around in much rougher condition.

My main concern is regarding wiring since I really do not want to get into re-wiring the truck to get it to work.

not sure about the rest but the 79-81 cluster plugs are round and 82-83 plugs are rectangle.

I wonder if I could swap the ends from the 82 dash onto the 80'site dash?

I have 3 weeks to get my truck ready for a camping/trail event and one of the things I need to do is swap in my 83 cluster in my 81, I will cut the harness and solder on the new plugs, so far all the wires seem to be the same colour but I'll let you know if I come into any issues.

All wires are the same colour appart from an extra red/green wire from 1981 for the clock. I just swapped an 1983 sr5 cluster in an 1981 truck.
