i I had a bad fuel leak on my 22r. I found the leak where the fuel pump meets the fuel lines. This is the extent of my experience so far

Umm other fuel odor ideas to be check would be fuel tank overfilled, charcoal canister filter in evaporative emissions control system, vapor leaks from evaporative emissions control system

O2 sensor does not connect to the exhaust manifold -- take it to a muffler shop and the will weld a bung in your exhaust system -- cost like $15.00 --

My carbureted 22R has an oxygen sensor on the manifold. I believe that California smog trucks had O2 sensors and federal smog did not. The oxygen sensor is used for the feedback control system in California smog trucks, which have a computer controlled EBCV to control the mixture instead of a smog pump.
