Engine Rings

Is it possible to change the piston rings on a 76 with the engine still in the truck?

sure it is but you have to unbolt the mounts and lift the engine to get the pan out. it's a lot easier and cleaner working on the engine when it's out of the truck.

with the right tools the engine can be pulled in less than 1 hour. It will save you time to go ahead and pull it out where you can get to everything easily.
