Early 1978 Toyota Pickup (Hilux) GM Conversion Wiring Question
Hello guys!
So after stinking up my neighborhood with a battery that was about to pop (smelled like rotten egg), and after doing some research I decided to just be done with the external regulator and convert over to an internally regulated alternator. I purchased a 12SI Delco 94 amp alternator and the bracket I need from LCE Performance. Now here is my issue, someone apparently already tried doing this and kind of cut a few of my wires that lead to the external regulator, I have no idea how I never noticed this. I have the 6-blade voltage regulator and need a bit of help to figure out if they did a god job or I need to redo some stuff. So it looks like they "spliced" or "jumped" four wires, the white/red wire to a green wire going to the alternator, a white/yellow (or yellow/white?) to a blue wire also going to the alternator.
Based on the wiring diagram I found out:
IG - White/Red
N - White/Light Blue
F - White/Green
E - White/Black
L - Yellow/White
B - White
Is there anymore work I need to do? Or is it just a matter of plug and play?
So, I checked using a voltage tester to see what was HOT when the ignition switch was on. The White/red wire that was spliced to the green wire is HOT when the ignition switch is on and when the car is running. The yellow/white to the blue wire is HOT when the ignition switch is on, but once the car is running is OFF. Just some more info that might be worthwhile.
