This site seems to have some good info on the '83's, including the "SR5 Sport Diesel" model:

http://www.toyoland.com/trucks/tacoma-hilux.html

Also, Rockauto seems to have a pretty good selection on parts for the diesel truck. Gawd knows they've helped me plenty with my '78, good prices too.

Just from doing a little Google searching, it looks like the gas & diesel injectors could be the same part. If so you may be in luck, as the gas ones are still out there. You're just gonna havta do some digging for parts number interchanges. Or find a local dealer with a nice parts guy who doesn't mind searching for you. At least you could get the original part number that way. Very helpful when searching for Toyota parts online, I've found. It might also be possible they are more available in Europe? They embraced diesel more than we did, so they have more vehicles & parts availability.

Have you tried cleaning the injectors yet? Sometimes that all it takes; they are pretty simple devices but they do get gummed up over time from sitting with fuel in them, worse than gas.

Boneyard, used replacement bed? Try carpart.com. I've also heard that beds from 75 to 95 will all swap, same bolt hole locations.

I'm actually a diesel mechanic and own several diesel and work on semis. Gas and diesel injectors are very different it takes minimum 1500 psi to open a pump line nozzle injector for the correct spray. I'm just having a hard time trying to locate some parts. Havenot tore into it yet just planning ahead a little and you can't really clean a diesel injector like you can gas the holes are very small to atomize the fuel when it sprays. Thank you for the info about the beds but I think I'm gonna flat bad it

Ahhhhhh, NOW you tell me! In any case, I still stick to me suggestion you check European sources for the injectors, may be more available.

Happened to find these on Ebay Motors UK:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-HIL...P-Sujc-vmJtTgw

Sez opening pressure 151 - 159 psi? Does say they fit your vehicle tho: "Hilux 2,4 Diesel Pickup 4WD 62 kW 1983-1997 2L" Looks like the rite engine to me. Set of 4 brand new too. On currency conversion (https://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/) I get about $219 US delivered.

you have to search on ebay.co.uk it wont be available in the US search unless they specify that they ship worldwide. You will have to ask seller if they will ship to the states on anything you find over there. Australia has a separate ebay too ebay.co.au I think. all of your login info will be the same and anything you watch there will stay on your watchlist as well.

What msane99 said X2. I also sent that particular listing because it says the seller ships worldwide, so you could get them sent to here in the U.S. If you use Paypal, they will do an immediate currency conversion for you when you pay, based on the exchange rate of the moment. Easy. If you want or need a clue on current exchange rates I use https://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/
