Converting back to pickup

I’m looking at the limited edition ‘79 pickup that Mightymouse has for sale. It’s supposedly a Winnebago conversion from the dealer, but it doesn’t look like the normal trekkers seen in later years. I’m not crazy about the gap between the fiberglass shell and cab. This doesn’t look well and I bet I wouldn’t be able to find new weatherstripping. Has anyone else seen anything like this in other ‘79s?

Seeing that I would rather have a pickup than a Trekker anyway, how hard would it be to convert it back? Any advice would be appreciated

Pictures or at least a link to the sale ad. If it's not what you want, then why buy it? If it is a dealer or aftermarket conversion, it could have some value the way it is. Again, if you want a pickup, buy a pickup.

From the pictures in Mightymouse's For Sale Thread, it looks like it is just a standard truck bed cap / canopy / topper (which ever terminology you prefer) bolted to the bed, but the provided pictures don't show enough detail to be sure.

Unless the back of the cab has been cut out and removed, it should be just as simple as removing the bolts that hold the bed cap on and removing the bed cap.

Now, if this truck does have some sort of Trekker like conversion, you will be missing the back of the cab and the front bed wall, which would make the bed now a part of the cab.

I would contact Mightymouse for more pictures of the conversion so you can see what has actually been done, and hopefully some sort of paperwork so you can see that Winnebago, or some similar company did the conversion.

I have seen the pics. It has had the cab cut out.
