Thanks for the fast reply.... yes it was very helpfull I already read it all..... what intrig me the most was the mod. in getting extra degres could you tell me in what degree you could actually role over.... Also some pic would be great... but giving it a second thought all dash boards are the same...... right?

No fixed roll over angle, a lot depends on whether moving or not. I think I have been to 40+ degrees and one time should have rolled since I was basically laying on the driver's side door, maybe 70-80 degrees, held up only by the two tires and the kicked out end of my sliders on a rock. Backed up and out of that one without a scratch or dent. I find once you get over about 30 degrees, watching the dials is the farthest thing from your mind
I would imagine the earlier dashes have no provisions for the clinometer, so cutting, fastening and wiring would be up to you.

Try the Marlin forum, too. I know Marlin and maybe BigMike too have them installed in their first gens. Pretty sure they put them right where the little indent/storage area is on the dash pad, just towards the passenger side of the instrument cluster. So basically right where it would be installed stock for a first gen 4runner, I think.

I had Tercel SR5 4WD with a clinometer. The transmission crapped out, and I gave the clinometer to a Subaru buddy as a birthday gift. Now that I have my truck, I wish I had held onto it. I've found dozens of Tercels in the junkyards here, but the clinometer had always been missing. Make sure you wire up the lights inside, it's worth it.
