cool fix! I think my relay was bad so I swapped it with another one, can't remember if the charge light ever went off but I'll do this if it didn't.. I have the SR5 ammeter so the charge light is even more useless to me.

FYI

if it does not go off doing this, you need to reveres the diode (silver stripe)

Would this work on an 84 with ic regulator? I can't find a socket plug that matches so if I take apart the relay and just use the casing is that ok? Or can I just put the diode into the plugs that are listed with out a socket?
