Aftermarket Gauges/Aluminum Dash?
Anyone done this before to their Toyota?
My dash is looking a lil ĊĊĊĊty (plus it's brown) so I was thinking about doing an aluminum dash with aftermarket gauges once I get it driving. I figure I can do it in a weekend.

Yea, I've found that.
I need to pull it apart and find out for sure. Autometer does make sensors.
I'm trying to get a sort of idea going in my head.
I'll have a 5" speedo and tach plus water temp, oil pressure and fuel gauges.
I found a switch panel from 12vguy which I'll use to control fuel and inginition, I'll then place a flip cover and lock over it so it'll be secure.

Getting ideas: http://www.12voltguy.com/catalog.0.html78.0.html
I'm starting to do some ghetto drawings in paint.

Here's a picture of an aluminum dash that I found a while back. They look cool but Autometer charges SOOOOO much for their products.

Props to the guy's insanely nice truck too.

I uploaded the wrong dash design, will fix later.

And there's the dash design. I'm liking it personally.
The center console will come back and around the shifters then into an arm rest with maybe a lil cubby hole in the top for storage.

Thanks to Slacker for providing me with a wiring diagram, I can get this thing under way. I'm thinking about getting the aluminum in about a week or so depending, then I can start on it.
I'm going to toss the factory heater and use a Flex-a-lite Mojave heater in it's place.
I've got other stuff to do on the truck but it's too damned cold.

Did you ever get this dash in? did you or has anyone installed an autometer speedo into the SR5 truck? Curious what you had to do to to the cable to plug in? I just bought one on ebay and will be building a dash soon since my truck won't really have much of an option to put the stock one back in...
Thanks,
Khris
