Aftermarket fenders and hood.

Anyone have any experience with these from Rock Auto or anyone else offering after market fenders? Just wondering about the fitment...
They are cheap and if they fit it would be a lot easier than trying to repair the ones I have.

Thanks

I bought one of the aftermarket fenders during my bodywork. The fit was good enough, you do have to expect some adjustment for door gaps and body lines. The thickness is comparable to the original.
I decided to repair my original instead because I wanted to keep all the original body parts I could.

I've used their parts numerous times. Only thing I can say is their parts are good but the shipping sucks. We hit a deer in the wife's Nissan Murano and totaled it out. I bought it back and fixed it with Rock auto parts as well as ebay parts. The big Rock Auto parts arrived freight. The driver pulled the big boxes out of the back of the truck and let them fall onto the road. He then didn't want to move them into the driveway. I wasn't home, just my wife. The boxes were busted up pretty good. Luckily nothing was damaged. One other time I ordered four wheel well moldings from them. Two arrived undamaged, one was bent but fixable, and one was destroyed. They sent me a replacement that arrived damaged and unusable as well. A third replacement was sent, but the Fedex truck caught fire and burned to the ground on the side of the highway. When I tried to get another replacement sent they said they wouldn't send another one, but did refund my money for the one they wouldn't resend. I ended up buying the fourth one on ebay. Fedex, UPS and even the mail is hard on packages. But if the parts are boxed good they usually arrive in one piece. Rock auto is good about replacing or refunding the money though. You can't call anyone anymore though, it has to be done on the internet. And then there was the time the chrome steel S10 bumper arrived bent in half. It was replaced, but I had to wait about another week for it to arrive.

Yeah, it's a crap shoot having sheet metal parts shipped. When I restored my '86 IROC I ordered a hood from Summit. When it arrived it looked like it had been dropped from an airplane. They were awesome about it and sent another out before They even received the bad one back. Glad to hear the fitment should be workable. I'll try one on my driver's side since it has pretty extensive damage...

True, but you have to find a source for those used parts. I needed some stuff for my '83 last year, and I tried EVERY junkyard in a 50 mile radius and none of them had any 79-83 trucks. Actually, nothing from 79-88, as I also wanted parts for a 1987 that I owned for awhile. Most yards had zero Toyota trucks/4Runners. I did buy lots of parts from Rock Auto, and was generally pleased with what I received.
