Does anyone know where this large coolant fitting on the bottom of the IAC goes? I have all the other coolant hoses hooked up....possibly incorrectly.

Looks like the size of a heater hose, but I already have my heater core hooked up to the coolant bypass pipe and the cylinder head rear cover. Is this right? Help lol

Autozone or someone usually has those hose diagrams somewhere on their website. Of it is egr and yours is blocked, you might need to T it into another line just to close the system. But I have no idea.
its looking good. Youre getting down to the last details seems like.

I can’t seem to find out for sure if it goes to the EGR, but there is no where else for it to go. Yeah probably better to T it into another hose. Think I will just do that for now and figure it out after the engine is done. So close now! 😁

By the way, how is your wife doing?
It really snowballed quickly once I took the cab off the frame. I need to update my thread as I've got a little but more done. Front axle was pulled, wire wheeled, and painted. Its back in now just waiting for me to finish the hubs to bolt it all back together. The wife is doing great, she's 6 weeks post-op for her first of three reconstructive surgeries, so there is finally light at the end of tunnel.

Awesome man glad she is doing well. I’m getting ready to start the engine in a few days. Will keep the thread updated.

Got the ECU wired up, hopefully she works. Was able to connect to it with the OBD reader and saw a few codes for sensors that were unplugged. Fingers crossed hopefully will attempt to start it for the first time tonight!

Some pics

Welp...good news is the engine is turning over nicely and sounds like it has good compression. Bad news is it wouldn’t start, but that doesn’t really surprise me 🤣

Gonna have a look at the wiring again tomorrow and do some troubleshooting. So close!!

In case someone has any ideas...this is how I have it wired. This is a distributor type 3rz manual trans.

Well good news is I got it to fire up for a few seconds. Yew! Problem was I didn’t have the igniter grounded. Bad news is I have water leaking into the intake. Probably something to do with that hose that I T’d into the heater hose. Need to figure out where that actually needs to be!

ITS ALIVE!!!!

I almost cried when this engine fired up for the first time. So many uncertainties about whether it was wired correctly, whether everything was hooked up, heck even wherther I rebuilt it correctly. All of that anxiety washed away today! Granted it wasn’t perfect, it wouldn’t really idle yet, but it was running!!

Thanks guys, a few things to still work out before I can drive it. Mainly the exhaust and an oil pressure gauge. While I'm waiting for some parts to arrive I will be trying to get the alternator wired up. Anyone know how it should be wired? I've got the main wire going to an 80A fuse and straight to the battery. The other three wires I'm not sure. From the wiring diagram it looks like they all go to 12v through different connectors. Since I don't have any of the dash or fuse box harness I'm probably just going to put them all straight to the battery (with fuses of course). This sound right? Will try to attach the wiring diagram.

You should post some more pics of your truck. I’m definitely following this thread.

I read that you will not be hooking up a/c. Did you have a/c and just won’t go back with it or did you not have it to begin with?

The truck never had AC to begin with so I didn’t even bother with doing it. Maybe sometime in the future I will install it but who knows.

Thanks for following!

Got the trans tunnel and shifters all buttoned up.

Making slow progress, still haven’t actually driven the truck yet haha.

Engine is running nicely, idles smooth. Found out that hose on the bottom of the IAC needs to go to the intake pipe before the throttle body.

Got the intake all hooked up

Seats mounted up, huge thanks to my boy Aaron for doing all the welding!
