83 22r Pickup

Hello,

I have a 83 22r Pickup that i recently purchased for strickly offroading.

I left the truck sit for a few days and it wouldnt start, took me forever to get it primed and running.

once i got it running i put on 20-30miles and it ran / started fine.

left it sit for a few days again and same problem,
whenever i hit the gas peddal to the floor it should pump but it doesnt.

its almost like when the truck sits the fuel drains back to the tank and takes forever to get back into the mechanical pump.

what are some things to look at or into?

What is the top of the fuel pump hookup to?

any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would start by checking your fuel line and connections for leaks, if you have any leaks that could cause a loss of vacuum pressure in the lines so the fuel is going back to the tank. Check your filters too.
