I'll get some pics on here in a bit but the tailpipe is behind the left rear tire there's absolutely no oil around the tailpipe I also just changed the oil I used 10w30 even just put Lucas oil stabilizer just to say i did. The old oil was normal not thin or anything out of the norm

I would think the rear diff seal would be the culprit being the closest to the tailgate...

The one time I had oil blowin' back on my rear bumper a bad pinion seal in the rear diff was the culprit ....

1980 4wd 20r Oil/Grease on tailgate also

Did you figure out where this was coming from? I had a leaky LSPV and replaced it with an aftermarket proportioning valve, but am still slinging some kinduv grease/oil on tailgate. Grease also gets on bottom of fuel tank. Rear end is dry, but I've noticed rear Ujoint is missing Zerk. also plate where driveshaft bolts to rearend seems wet, but not around seal? Anyway any help or enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

Exhaust exits drivers side behind rear tire. oil is all the way across tailgate.

Check your rear diff. The pinion seal on your axle where your drive shaft enters sometime wear out and they must gear oil everywhere. I would check that!
