Don't know why you'd want to convert to the square lights, the rounds look way better. That said, I'm sure its possible cause I've seen people convert to the round ones.

4x4yota converted from round to square, and I did the opposite. It's very easy. If you want to do it right, you need the headlights, headlight buckets, grill, and you'll need to either splice the wires or pick up the connectors when you get your parts, since they changed from square to round (connectors) when the lights changed from round to square...

I had to drill a couple holes for the headlight brackets, but otherwise it all lined up.

Yeah, but not "right"...Look closely at both. The round's are fit into the grill like a puzzle piece. The square's just sit flush against the grill.

They both have side lights. That's what the plug is for. Mine aren't working right now because I didn't pick up the connectors and haven't spliced anything yet.

looks like the grill for the 82s is a bit shorter in length.

You need the whole deal. The pieces are: headlights, headlight brackets, grill, headlight buckets. The brackets are what the headlights screw into, metal piece. The buckets are the plastic piece the headlights sit inside, and they are all one piece, with the side light included. Do yourself a favor and take off one of your headlights completely; headlight, bucket, light bracket, and see what's involved, and all your questions should be answered. When you grab the round style headlight bucket, it will have the light in it, just like your square bucket.
