Ok, here is my problem. The truck will idle fine when on the choke but when it gets warm it usually dies. Sometimes it will idle fine and then die. Once it dies, it will not idle during that driving trip. I have replaced all the vaccum lines(all 25 feet) and have also checked for leaks. I have read about the fuel idle cut solenoid but I dont think I have one as it is a Cali truck (based that on the wiring diagram).

I pulled the ECM and it looked fine. Other than buying a new carb (as I have read about the troubles with rebuiding) I am stumped.

This truck is all original and has just over 100k miles on it. It had sat for quite a while but it ran great when I first got it running.

 

last tune up? or egr valve have u looked at it? does it feel like its starving for fuel or just bogs and dies?

 

I did a full tune up a couple of months ago. I have not looked at the egr yet. It seems to run fine if you have your foot in like going down the road. Sometimes it will buck if you are just creeping along.

 

I know this sounds crazy, but check your battery. I have a 02 jeep liberty and it was doing the same thing. wouldnt idle but would run if you kept you foot on the gas. after hours of trying everything, i finally changed the battery and it was just fine. just take the battery down to your local kragen or napa and have them test it.

 

Can someone post a pic of the Fuel Cut Solenoid? I have been searching all day and that seems to be the constant thing...But like I said, my book says Cali trucks dont have one???
