Keep up the good work. Really interested in how this turns out running and coolin wise. I agree the VW diesels are a good choice but very underpowered. The Sammy guys seem to like them though. The body lift would have helped. But understand not wanting to move the weight up.

Actually I was kinda thinking along those lines. I recently picked up a BMW 525i that has really nice interior but a blown auto trans.

I didn't make the adapter myself, I had a machinist close to me make it up after showing him exactly what I needed. I got the Pilot bearing bushing and the holes drilled in the flywheel to mate to the Mercedes crank for $100. I could probably have him make up a couple more if there is interest. He might even still have the measurements. I am assuming that you are using a Toyota transmission.

So I have been working on the truck a bit. Finally got the chevy, wagoneer and hysteer swaps mostly done just need new shocks now.
This is the truck at almost full drop.

The new ride height.

Well I didnt't move the axle forward like most people but its just allpro hysteer so it should look like everyone's else.

They are just 33" Bfg. Kinda sad that I just got them new. Looking kinda of small now.

So I don't know if anyone is still following my thread, but its been a bit slow, just got done with replacing a transmission in my wifes 525i in the drive way. I don't think I have everbeen so frustrated with working on a car.

But anyways, I have started working on the truck again. Got some new goodies for the truck as well. Including some 30 spine longfields, 5.29s F/R and 14" Bilstiens F/R

Did some work on my crossmember.

Worked some on the front to mount the oil cooler and the power steering cooler.

Made some brackets to hold the intercooler but I think I will have to go a different route because yet again I would have to redo the hood.

This is where I ended tonight.

Looks good, man! Seriously innovative stuff. You make the OM swap look easy.

Thanks, the swap really wasn't that hard though, just alot of small things.

So I may have really overgeared, as the truck can now idle uphills in 1st(not in LO), might need to get some 37". Ran through my first tank of diesel, with most of it being in town driving, and as best as I can tell I got 22mpg.
As of now the truck is shuddering pretty good when it hits about 60, I'm hoping its just that I need to get the wheels alinged since I just did hysteer and not the drive shaft since I lifted up the transmission.

Some recent pics.
