damn thats a tight fit!
I wonder if you couldnt make some kind of beefy bumper thats got a radiator mount instead of putting it in the bed..
i guess your scoop idea on the side of the truck would work...id definitely build a protector cage of sorts around the radiator though...make sure nothin hits it especially if you're planning on puttin anything in the bed.
sweet build up though, subscribed for sure.

for the hood, you could always make it rise a bit. but i think an off-set hood scoop would look cool. my two cents

Just make some sort of fiberglass scoop for it and paint it to match. I think this is such a cool build. Who would of thought a MB deisel would fit in a toyota truck!

Okay I haven't been updating this much but I have been working on it almost everyday. Here is a video of it running, its a couple days old though.

So I never liked the idea of the radiator in the bed so I measured again a couple of times and there is just enough room for a radiator and a mechanical fan in the front. I ended up mounting it in front of the radiator support so now it sticks about 3" out of the hood. So to make a long story short I cut up a Mercedes hood and welded it to the of toyota.
Needless to say I suck at body work.

Could you build/have built some kind of cowl hood and maybe put some kind of bushings or spacers on the toyota grill so its mounted further out?

Here is the only picture I have of the build of the hood if anyone cares.
So since I have to use the Mercedes tachometer I got adventurous and took the gauge cluster apart. With a bit of trimming of the backing plate of the tachometer and shaving of plastic it fits very close to stock. I don't have a pic of the finished product but will take one when I get back from the inlaws.
Had to trim along the black line.

Yeah the hood didn't turn out exactly how I wanted but luckily there is enough room between the radiator and grill that I will be able to use the intercooler that I have laying around, wouldn't have been able to do that with the stock Toyota grill.

Are you going to use the benz grill on the front of the truck?

edit: never mind I thought what I was looking at was the benz. Turns out I was wrong. Hahah this thing is sweet.
