Thanks for all the kind comments.
you gonna upgrade on trans stuff or just swap it to get it back on the road?
Well I originally put in a G series transmission, this time around I'm going to try for a w56. Also the transmission I bought before, I got off of craigslist and was pretty rough shape, so I'm not to surprised that it didn't last long.

Yeah I'm loving the look of the 37s so far. Just need to paint the beadlocks.

Hey, just got a 4runner and your page really got me thinking about doing this diesel swap. I was stuck on the vw swap for a while, but after seeing the amount of work that was needed to get this one in, plus, the cost of an om617 over the vdubs it's a no brainer!

I was just wondering how the truck is running now, how many miles have you put on it since you did the swap, that sort of stuff.

I do a ton of road trips and all that good stuff, hoping to get better gas milage, and better performance overall with this swap...

But, I love this page, been very informative!!

I got okay mileage, I ran a couple tanks through and was getting 23~24mpg. Looking back on it I should have done a good tuneup, but I didn't know much about diesels at all. I got a bit of experience after rebuilding my 6bt. Don't do gears, its a waste of money IMO unless your pushing 40s+
