Original toyota diesels are hard to come by and when they do the price is so high it makes you wan to build your own lol . Great build i hope to see it running soon.

Hey truckman, I have talked to the machinists he didn't have any of the measurements so I had to find my Mercedes flywheel to get the specs. Just been really busy.

Kinda of, mostly I give them to him so that he can get the exact measurments and see exactly what I'm talking about, since I'm not to good at explaining myself and have no calipers. But he does do alot of conversion kits, so pilot bearing bushings are nothing new to him.

i see i see. did you let him take measurements off the mb crank? i figure i can give the machinist my om617 and my toy flywheel with pilot bearing and just say "put this on here!" have the pilot bearing/bushing made and flywheel redrilled at the same time.

What your suggesting is exaclty what I did, ended up costing $100 for the bushing and the drilled holes. I just had him take the measurements off the diameter of the hole in the mercedes flywheel as it appears that it is the same diamater as the whole in the MB crank. Atleast when I did it that way the bushing was tight enough I had to tap it in with a block of wood.

Well only ran two full tanks so far, first was 22mpg, second was 19. I would have to say 60% of the tanks was in town driving. MPG so far is lower then I was hopeing for, but it could be for a couple of reasons. Mainly the fact I overgeared it, it drove just fine with 3.90 and 33s, now it has 5.29s with 33s. Does about 3000rpm at 65. Still needs alot of tune up work mostly valve adjustments.

because of the low end tq i was planning on keeping my 4.10s and maybe going 34"s or 35"s i'd like to be in the 2000-2500 range at 70mph

Yeah I had always planned to run larger tires, still have my eye on H1 tires and wheels. They would put me close to that range.

the 37"s are gnarly. prolly make my 32"s look tiny. you gonna upgrade on trans stuff or just swap it to get it back on the road?
