i recently installed a 81 22r into my 82,engine runs great.
has weber carb installed.
new plugs,new wires,cap/rotor...ec.
havent checked timming yet.
fires up in less than a revolution without hessitation.
slight hessitation when cold (sluggish on low end rpm),but once warmed up....shes good to go.
i already sprayed vacume lines with carb cleaner while running,sprayed around the intake/carb aswell...no change in idle.
sometimes on startup i get a faint gas smell for a few seconds,sometimes i dont.

after i drive around a few miles,i shut engine off in idle...bout 1 second after engine dies...i get a ....sneeze from the tail pipe,a mini backfire.its very quiet,but still.

what could be causing this....maybe choke hanging up,or not set right?
maybe a few degrees off on timing?

lend me your opinions please!

it was the choke sticking,when i give her full throttle the choke engauges and sticks.
without the choke sticking....the weber needs a tune up.
