79-83 Camper shell

I can't post in the Classifieds section as I am a new member, not enough posts apparently.
Bought this truck for my son, put a fair amount of work into it, distributor, heater repair, hoses, odometer stuck (fixed thanks to this forum) and more, fixed a pulling and vibration issue with new tires. My son would like to put a camper shell on it.
Anyone have a lead on a camper shell for an 82 pickup, in NorCal, Santa Cruz/Monterey?

Not sure about the shell, I did a brief search awhile back and came up empty. Very cool truck though, my son will soon be driving my 1980 as his first vehicle. Good luck with the search.

I'm up in Montana so there aren't quite so many of these trucks around, but I never could find a topper for mine. I eventually bought an aluminum topper that fit later year Toyotas, and actually cut a couple inches off of it so that it fit. Hopefully you'll have more luck down there...

But yeah, nice truck.

If you're not looking for a perfect fit body-matched one I'd just keep an eye on craigslist. There's always several on there in my neck of the woods. Some will obviously fit better than others. This one I had on my 82 originally came from a ranger. It fit pretty good for what its worth. Was plenty comfy to camp under.

I suggest searching internet buy sell pages for complete trucks and find one that has a canopy on it and offer to buy just the canopy from them. Also, don't forget to use different terms when searching for it. What is a camper shell to you, is a canopy to me, is as topper to guys I work with and is a box cover to the guy down the street. Good luck.

Shame you were so far away.
What brand topper was that?
Don't think I have seen one like that before.

Looks like a Glasstight. They're nice. Made more like a cooler than a typical fiberglass topper.
