New Guy here wondering if a 1985 4x4 rear axle will swap into a 1982 4x4 truck. From reading it seems both are geared 4:10.
I'm looking at picking up the 82 truck but it has a busted rear end.
The asking price is $1400. It has a rebuilt engine/tranny, new clutch, tires, shocks and starter. Body has minimal rust but interior is rough.
Fair price or to high?

 

It should, swap over. You might find the drive shaft bolts are 8mm (on the '82) vs. 10mm (on the '85), so easiest would be to drill out the holes in the shaft flange and use the larger bolts.
