That does not look stock to me, looks like a car console. The center cavity is for a Ebrake handle to come through.

Really, what year is yours? Mine has a sunroof but also no chrome. Have the grille and light housings faded into a grey on your truck? Mine seem to have faded quite a bit.

I got a replacement console at Wally World. It was less than $20 and fits great between the seats!

I'm using a cooler/console that I originally bought when I had a Bronco II. It served a purpose but I was wondering about the bracket that was originally there. Someone over the years must have removed it for some untold reason and discarded it. The nice thing about the cooler/console is it has cup holders and it wedges the old worn out bucket seats up a little.

Looks basically the same as mine without the little coin holder part.

I have the same center console that 83 posted in his pics. Its in good shape. I took it out and don't plan on using it. It came out of an 83 4x4 used to be dark blue but its a bit lighter now. If anyone is interested pm me. Not sure what its worth and not interested in make money off it.

This is the factory center console for an 83 SR-5.

the 2WD and 4WD consoles are as follows:

2WD (SR5) with bucket seatsonly long one that covers the shifter area (like grey one above)

2WD and 4WD (base and deluxe)split bech used the small one that screwed to the seat frame.

4WD SR5 with bucket seats used one like the black one pictured above.

2WD automatic transmission had a seperate shifter cover and a console similar to the SR5 4WD version. i have to do some more checking on this one, but they may be the same piece. I only just got the 2WD auto transmission version console and don't currently have a 4WD version in hand to compare it too, but they are very similar.

This one is missing the front coin holder section or it is covered up by the carpet.

SC81YOTA has the correct photos of a factory console for 1982-1983 Toyota SR5 4x4 Sport Trucks. All SR5 4x4 trucks came with bucket seats and console. And yes,the hole in the front portion of the console was for a parking brake available only on Hilux Japanese and Aisian export models. The US models received the one under the dash because Toyota thought Americans liked that design since almost all US brand trucks had the under dash mounted type in one form or another.
