1982 wheel question stock or no?
I cannot seem to find any info on this wheel. I think this is a stock rim but I have not seen one like it. It is currently on my 82 that is waiting for new rims and tires.
I am wondering if a 31 x 10.50r-15 will fit on this wheel? I have a guy interested buying them only if the 31's will fit.
thanks.

Not sure if there is a Les Schwab near you, but the local Schwabs around here charged TrekkerPaul around $29 to powercoat each of his Rims...the finish was not too bad.
Can't recall if he had to do the prep work or if they took care of it...1 week turn around time
Anyone else notice how muddy the truck is but the chain looks like it just got pulled out of a sack, nice and clean

whats more amazing is that that mud was halfway up the rear diff tube. chain is almost brand new, but yeah that's kinda weird. funny Jerry didn't mention that, he's the one with OCD. lol

he just got back from Ace Hardware were he picked up some mud, and a huge chain. He had just finished with his second coat of mud and applying the chain armor, when he noticed that he had a nail in his tire.

Les Schwab actually charged me 25.02 each wheel to powder coat them. They have a limited number of colors, but enough to get er done. I chose white for my stock steelies (non SR5) and they came out pretty nice. I would go with Tuff Coat if I had to do it over. They charge 40.00 each rim, with more colors and sheen variations too. I am getting some stock lug nuts done right now in 80% sheen black. Just like stock.
The good thing about Les Schwab is that they can mount your tires for you when the rims get back. They did the sandblasting included in the price.
The Chrome rim you guys are talking about is the SR5 version. The date is stamped on the back side of the rim. You may have to clean it up a bit, but there will be some numbers and letters and part of it will show the month and year of production.
79-83 will be a 0 backset, and the later version will be offset to the outside. You should be able to mount up to a 33" tire on these rims, but for sure a 31". The stock tires were H78 15 Dunlap Snowcruisers, which are equivelant to a 225/75. A 235.75/15 is the same as a 31/10.5/15
HOPE THIS HELPS

If you put a BFG AT 31 10.5 x15 on this rim (the rim in the first post) first will it fit and second do you need wheel spacers????
And if these are chrome can I sand blast them and paint them?
