1982/83 toyota pickup 4x4

Hey guys i am new to this site, i am only 16 years old, live in manitoba cananada , within the next month i an buying my first project truck, a 1982 toyota 4x4 shortbox, has the most UGLY deck on it, the motor knocks, interior looks like its been downunder and back, chassis is rotted out beond repair but the cab is in amazing shape, the floors are good, cab corners are good, need some paint thoe, previous owner painted it black with house paint LOL, but it runs and drives, it also comes with a parts truck, a 1983 toyota 4x4 shortbox, no box or motor just cab, and the chassis is in MINT cond. so i will be doing a chassis swap along with a 3 inch lift, 33inch boggers, and a custom tubed deck and i will rebuild the motor it is gonna take me a little over a year to finnish and cant wait to start in ONE month i will get some pics of it it and do like a rebuild thread on it, i am not gonna so some all out beast of a truck, i am still going to keep it as factory as posible but it will be my daily driver and for playing in the mud with my buddies after school.

i have also wounderd somthing, what the heck does bobbed mean, and whats the point of cutting a good chunk off the back of your truck

It improves the departure angle. You'll see.

ok well here are some pics of my truck, well upon further inspection i found out why my drivers side door dident have the body line, started sanding away and bam, the previous owner fixed the rusted door my covering the rust with TINFOIL AND SILICON!!!!!!! so now i need a new drivers side door, fenders, hood, rockers(again fixed with tinfoil and solicon) and that metal box/deck u see, that is like the EXACT same thickness as the chassis, so that box is going to repair my chassis hehehe, also i can get a chassis from a 1984 in good condition, will it fit my 82

Hey dude,

I'm from Winnipeg, Canada as well. Truck looks like it has some potential. I'm working on an 1985 Pickup. Give me a PM if you want to talk on MSN or something. I have a few hookups in the community.

Regards,

Derek.
