where is the solenoid on this truck?

I'm only hearing a click when i turn the key. I turn key off on off on off on then eventually the points make connection.

Any ideas?

selenoid is part of the starter ..

sounds like your starter contacts .. ~ 50C ea.
labor is the most , but more people have more time then money ..


pull the started and replace the contacts .. should cure the problem

has anyone bought contacts from autozone, napa, carquest?

 

the starter on my 81 was acten up so i just replaced it 60 bucks at advanced auto. its two bolts and connect the wires done in 15 minutes.
