I have a 1980 Toyota truck that I’m looking to upgrade to make it run a little smoother and maybe give it a little more power. It is mostly stock right now, so anything would help. Any recommendations on maybe a suspension kit, general tweaks, or fixes, or parts, that would make it run better would be greatly appreciated. I don’t know where to start and am new to this so any insights would be helpful. The picture is when I made it look like the Toy Story pizza planet truck
Nice ride! FWIW, I'm pleased with the OME (Old Man Emu) springs and shocks I put on my '81. Doesn't make the ride "plush" by any means but it's pretty nice. Afterall, you're still dealing with a short wheelbase, 40-year-old truck... Also had good results swapping to a Weber carb and de-smogging the truck. That really cleaned up the engine compartment and made it much more drivable. I haven't done a header or anything exhaust related yet. Again, it's a 40-year-old truck, so it's going to be down on power by today's standards unless you go swapping motors. Good luck in the build!
