My 1978 toyota pickup has a Denso igniter for the ignition. The wires have all been disconnected from the igniter . There are six wires coming out of the igniter. If you are looking down at the igniter, wires coming out from the top are from left to right...

Orange WhiteIf anyone could tell me where these wires go it would be appreciated. Thanks.
I just took some photos of our 1980 20R. It is very original and I know there is a pic of the ignitor in the album. Take a look. Hope it helps. Google album https://photos.app.goo.gl/zcmzb8hZtZUKnoqq6

Don't have a diagram handy for the '80, but here's what I have for a '78. I assume it should be very similar.
Basically, the Igniter is a Power Transistor circuit that turns the Ignition Coil on & off. The Red and White wires go to a pickup coil in the distributor, which produces a small current (about 3 volts or so) via induction (a magnet passing by a wound coil of wire around a magnet, basically a generator).
There is a metal wheel on the distributor shaft that has raised vanes on it. When each of these vanes passes by the magnet, it induces a voltage in the pickup coil. This is a "signal voltage" used by the Ignitor circuit. It signals the Power Transistor inside to switch the Ignition coil on & off.
Mine has 5 wires instead of 6. The Ground should be solid black. No idea what the light brown wire might be for, maybe for a factory Tachometer in the dash? If that's the case the light brown wire should be coming off of the negative terminal of the Ignition Coil & goes to the tach.
