79-83 Fender Emblem removal

Hi all - I am sure this has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find a thread on it....what's the best way to remove the fender emblems and fender side marker? I don't see an easy way to do it....thank you!

I've not done it, but if there are no pins through the fender, you can assume it is attached with adhesive tape. The best way to remove those types is with monofilament fishing line. Take a heat gun and warm up the emblem(CAREFULLY) and backside of the fender and then use the line to "floss" the emblem off. To reattach, clean the residue and reapply 3M trim adhesive molding tape

Thanks! Nothing is protruding through the back of the inner fender, so I suppose it's the adhesive version. Ill give that a try.

NP. You'll need something thicker like 20lb test or so. I guess you could use tooth floss too.

Pull off your fender skirts/mud guards. You’ll be able to access the emblems from the inside then. They have three pins that go through the fender and have little retainers (forget if they were plastic or soft metal). You can just pop them off by hand then slide the emblems out and out of the fenders.
