1st Gen 4runner
Looking for a 1st Gen 4Runner in excellent condition, would like a southern truck with no rust. Prefer 4cyl 5spd but I am keeping my options open, seeing that these are very hard to come by now. Looking for something in close to stock condition but some modifications o.k. too. I am willing to purchase, and arrange pickup from anywhere in North America. I have no price limit as to what I would spend (within reason) on a very clean rust free truck. I am located in Canada (Toronto). Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I think that you need so specify what you consider excellent condition. And it might be hard to find one that meets your needs. Also, I would also post up a price range that you are looking to spend. And where are you Located, are you willing to drive to get something, etc...

In an ideal world I would have an 85 SR5 for a duel duty of wheeling (moderate) and driving when the weather is nasty and I need to leave the car at home. And since were are talking ideal... 3RZ or 2RZ swapped as well.
I think a good deal of the fun of being into old Toyotas is the hunt for the perfect rig and/or the parts to fix your's up.

I scored a great/built 85 this weekend and will be selling my 87 in the next week or so (Need to get the 85 checked out by my mechanic)
I'm located in Denver.
1987, DLX, 5-Speed, 22re
Silver with black top.
Grey interior(the shade that has the blue tint to it)
Only non-stock item is the CD player. I removed the orinal radio, installed the player and repalced the facotry speakers as they were trashed.
I have the complete maintenance history (receipts) minus an oil change or two. It was a very rare find. 1 slightly obsessive owner for 14 years.
Less then 145K (143k and counting as I am dirving through this storm)
New clutch - professionally installed - shifts great.
Details:
Exterior
• 7-8 out of 10.
• Couple hail dings on hood.
• Small amount of surface rust above/around passenger rear fender (one about the size of a dime and the others are tint specs) - I will provide detailed pictures.
• Dent in the hatch (opens fine, window works great, locks, no rattle)
• Scratches here and there.
• Shines up nice. A fresh coat of paint would make it look amazing.
• The frame and undercarriage are in great shape. Undercoated at some point. No damage, minimal rust.
• All windows are free of chips and cracks
Interior
• Amazing for the age.
• Dash and console is uncracked and clean.
• Driver's seat is mushed out and has a small crack on the side. I have been using a seat cover and it's comfortable enough for DD use.
• Passenger and rear seats are like new.
• Carpet is clean and without tears. It still has the original carpeted floor mats. The drivers side has heel holes worn in but the paseengers is like new!
EXTRAS
Brand new replacement bumper. I have been unable to track down reasonably priced mounting brakets or it would be attached already
Towing Hitch - Removed as it was rusting. Working on grinding and repainting.
Spare Toyota light/lock/bessel/license holder. For swapping out with the one on the truck now.
Old Corolla shift knob(!!!) - PO was using it. The stock one was in the glove box and I put it back on.
Wedgie cup-holder cut down to fit into center console.
More pictures to come.
I have a simple break down on the maintenance history I will post later on.

Can't start my own listing just yet but I thought I would let you all know that it is pretty much officially up for sale. I want to get it washed and cleaned up (Denver can't decide on sunshine or snow the last 3 weeks} before I take additional pictures and start with test drives. Hard to let it go but I do need to replenish my savings after purchasing my 85 Runner. PM an offer.

Congrats on the sale Toyota dad! I was following it on ebay. Nice to see clean, intact 1st gens up for sale. I have seen plenty of crusty ones sell for more then they should.
