1987 Custom Cab Pickup

I have been doing a little work on this truck thinking it might grow on me, its getting better but still has a ways to go. It has the factory carburated 22r with a 5 speed transmission. The truck has 192000 on the clock and runs surprisingly well. I have replaced the carpet and cleaned much of the years of debris out of it. The dealer optioned these out for an extra $5000 and so not many of these produced, as you can see it takes a unique personality to appreciate the design. The truck is very very solid, and if it was not a Custom i would be all over it. I live in the kansas city area, and my phone number is 816-305-4000.
thanks for looking
and happy new year

I've always loved these rigs, but never had the opportunity to see one up close. Do you have any pics of how they extended the frame to fit the additional length of the custom cab? I'd be interested, but you're just too far away from me.

must have had a small log/big branch roll up into the fender on the driver's side looking the damage on the bumper end piece and fender.

overall in pretty decent shape.

I test drove one of these new off the lot back in 86. ended up with a 4Runner, turning radius was a little big for me at the time

That one looks a million times better than the one I saw. I thought they all came turbo, but clearly yours isn't (tach and the mention of 22r/carb). One I saw was rusted out, engine was a 22re swapped in with a "normal" transmission (not the R151) and last I knew the guy got around $1500-2000 for it.

I didn't look at it great (OP could do a better description) but the cab to the extended part has a trim peice like a camper would have. I suspect it's tar'ed and sheet metal screwed together. Pretty sure it was an American company that did the mods. The extended part of the frame I think is just a section of frame added in and welded. The one I saw was so rusted you couldn't really see the weld lines or anything so not sure if it's a straight cut, angled, or oversized and overlapped.

The outsides are a bit ugly since things don't fade too well from cab to extended cab, but the inside is a pretty nice setup with a real seat in the back, and it looked to have lots of leg room (maybe the seats were adjusted way forward, it was parts storage when I was there lol).

Update on the Truck, I finally decided it needs to go, I can't keep every Toyota so this week I listed it locally. I feel a bit guilty letting it sit outside another winter, even though it has probably spent many outside over the last 30 years. I posted on Craigslist for $3900. I did not mention that the options it was built with were a/c and power steering. The a/c belt was removed so I do not know the status but the power steering works great.
Thanks again and feel free to call me at 816-305-4000.
